The Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team returned to Victory Field Thursday night for their fourth Central Atlantic collegiate conference game of the season, falling to area rival Holy Family University.
The Griffins drop to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in CACC games. The Tigers improve to 3-9 overall and 20-2 in league play.
Senior Molly Killion scored the Griffin's lone goal in the contest, a free position goal with 8:51 left in the second quarter. The free position score ups Killion's league leading free position scoring percentage to 75%, which is also the sixth highest mark in NCAA division II this season. Killion also led the team with three shots (two on goal). Lauren Sullivan added two shots (one on goal).
Killion also led the team with five ground balls, three caused turnovers and four draw controls.
Riley Regan added four ground balls and
Elizabeth Deal chipped in three. Deal also had three caused turnovers.Â
Virginia Perry made four saves in net for the Griffins while
Elena Arenas had two.
The two teams combined for 53 turnovers on the night and 42 ground balls.Â
Holy Family scored six times and the opening quarter and four more times in the second period to take a 10-1 lead at halftime. The Tigers scored eight unanswered goals in the second half to round out the scoring in the 18-1 win.   Rianna Shields led the Tigers with five goals.
The women's lacrosse team will face the University of Bridgeport on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Victory Field. First draw is set for 12:00 p.m.
