Sixteen different players scored a goal as the Chestnut Hill College Men's Lacrosse team clinched the #2 seed for the upcoming Central Atlantic collegiate conference Tournament and earn a home game with as 23-3 over Holy Family University Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field in northeast Philadelphia.
The Griffins improve to 8-4 overall and 6-1 in league contests, securing the home field for their first round of playoffs. The tigers drop to 2-12 overall and 0-7 in CACC games.
Noah Hammon led all scorers with four goals and added three assists for seven points. He also extended his consecutive games streak of scoring at least one goal to 21 games.

am Slater, Tommy Austin and
Jake Homan scored two goals apiece.Â
Cade Johnson had a goal and four assists to finish the day with five points.
Faceoff specialist
Brandon Berghaier won 18 of 22 faceoffs and recorded 15 ground balls, while also scoring a goal and assisting on another. Hammon added six ground balls while
Chase Snyder added four.
Snyder and three other players: Slater,
Daniel Grubb and
Kyle Gartenmayer had two caused turnovers apiece.
Julius Sorino earned the win, allowing two goals in the first half while recording four saves.
Adam Daley allowed a goal in the third quarter and had three saves while
Kevin Conaway played the fourth quarter and held the Tigers scoreless with three saves.
The Tigers struck first, scoring just 63 seconds into the game to take an early 1-0 lead. The Griffins responded with ten unanswered goals to take control of the game.  Hammon scored all four of his goals in the first 20 minutes of action and assisted on two others. Austin tied the game at the 10:43 mark before Hammon scored his first goal a minute later. Â
Following Hammon's fourth goal at the 7:16 mark of the second quarter., the Griffins got goals from
Austin Derx, Homan and Slater to take a 10-1 lead. Holy Family scored with 4:13 left in the quarter to make the score 10-2 at halftime.
Six goals to open the third quarter pushed the lead to 17-2 with 5:37 left in the quarter. The onslaught included two goals just seven seconds apart. Ballerini scored his second goal of the game with 11:11 left in the quarter with Hammon notching his third assist of the game. Berghaier won the subsequent faceoff and took the ball right down and scored just seven seconds after Ballerini's goal.
Berghaier also assisted on
Silas Charles' goal at the 5:37 mark, a score that came just ten seconds after Snyder scored the Griffin's 16
th goal of the game. Holy Family broke the run with a goal with 1:48 left to make the score 17-3.
Peyton Calvetto scored with five seconds left in the quarter taking a pass from Johnson for the team's 18yth score of the game. The Griffins added fourth quarter goals from
Jayden Basalatan, Cooper Jackson, Carter Getz, Nate Mathews and a man-up goal from Homan to round out the scoring.
The men's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday April 24, 2024 when they host the University of Bridgeport for the final regular season game. First faceoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
