Pascoe and McCall hit Home Runs as Griffins Cruise to an 11-4 win over Huskies

Michael Pascoe and Calvin McCall hit home runs while Ben Bradt pitched six scoreless innings as the Chestnut Hill College Baseball team cruised to an 11-4 win over Bloomsburg University Wednesday night at Hostelley Field in North Wales.

The Griffins improve to 14-26 while the Huskies fall to 12-28.

Pascoe staked the Griffins to an early 2-0 lead with a two run home run in the first inning while McCall added a two-run blast in the seventh inning to account for the Griffins' final two runs.  Pascoe and McCall finished the game with three RBI apiece.

Dylan Broderick was a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate while also getting hit with a pitch while Justin Geiger added two hits and two RBI.

Bradt pitched six innings of scoreless baseball, giving up just three hits while striking out five to earn his second win of the season.  Marlon Rose pitched the final three innings to earn his fourth save of the season, allowing four unearned runs.

Following Pascoe's home run, the Griffins added a solo run in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth, capped by an RBI single from Geiger.

The sixth inning saw the Griffins tack on four more runs, with McCall starting the scoring when he got hit with a pitch with the bases loaded. Two batters later Aiden Myers drove in two runs with a single and Geiger later added another RBI single to make thew score 9-0.

McCall ended CHC's scoring with a two run blast in the seventh inning, giving the Griffins an 11-0 lead.

The Huskies finally got on the board in their last at-bat, plating four runs after taking advantage of an infield error.  The big blow was a three-run home run by Chrisitan LaBarbera with two out before Rose retired the next batter on a groundout to end the game.

The baseball team returns to action for their final games of the season on Sunday, April 28, 2024, when they host Felician University at Hostelley Field.  It is the team's senior day- with ceremonies taking place in between games.  First pitch is set for noon.
