The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team won their second consecutive conference match Tuesday afternoon, defeating Dominican University 7-0 at the CHC Tennis courts.
The Griffins improve to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in Central Atlantic collegiate conference matches. Dominican falls to 0-2 overall and in conference play.
The match started with doubles play as the Griffins swept all three contests to take the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead.Â
Annabel Snow and
Claudia Rasilla were CHC's first doubles team to complete their match, scoring a 6-1 win over Ava O'Brien and Olivia Lopez at #3 doubles.Â
Romi Meirovich and
Lilian Bandel followed with a 6-2 win over Preet Koli and Kyla Fouts at #1 doubles, clinching the critical doubles point.Â
Alison Isaac and
Elena Arenas Guisasola completed the sweep with a 6-4 win over Angelina Amelkina and Lia Sarjveladze at #2 doubles.
Meirovich gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Fouts at #3 singles with Rasilla following with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Lopez at #5 singles. Bandel then clinched the match win for the Griffins, defeating Koli, 6-1, 6-0 at #2 singles, staking the Griffins to a 4-0 lead.
Snow and Sarjveladze split their first two sets forcing a tiebreaker with Snow pulling away late to earn the 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 (10-5) win at #4 singles, putting the Griffins up 5-0. Â Arenas Guisasola earned a hard fought 67-3, 7-5 win over Amelkina at #1 singles and
Anisha Reddy Thada closed out the match with a 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9) win at #6 singles to complete the sweep. Thada's win was her first singles win as a Griffin.
