A late-set rally by the Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team fell short as Georgian Court University handed the Griffins a 3-2 loss Wednesday evening in Lakewood, New Jersey.
The Griffins fall to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The lions improve to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in league play.
Georgian Court took the first two sets 25-23 and 25-15 and led by four late in the third set when the Griffins rallied with a 9-3 run to take the third set 25-23. Chestnut Hill led wire-to-wire in the fourth set and won 25-14 to even the match at two sets apiece. Â The fifth set saw the Griffins battle back from a 4-0 deficit, tie the game at 4-4 and battle through nine more ties before the Lions scored the final two points to take the fifth set 15-13 and the match 3-2.
Erika Dubosky led the Griffins with 16 kills and six aces. She also added ten digs for her first double-double of the season.Â
Rachel Mace also had a double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs.

thdouble-double of her career with 34 assists and 16 digs. Caporellie also added three aces
On the defensive side,
Maya Hopson tied the school's division two era records for total blocks with 11 and block assists with nine.Â

Alexandra Crespin led all players with 21 digs on the night.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Friday, September 20 when they begin play at the Crimson Hawk Classic Tournament at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The Griffins will face University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown and host IUP on Friday.
