The Chestnut Hill college women's tennis team won their second match in a row Tuesday afternoon, defeating host West Chester University 5-2 on WCU's South Campus courts.
The Griffins improve to 4-2 while the Golden Rams fall to 0-1.
The Golden Rams jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by taking two of the three doubles matches. Chestnut Hill's only doubles win came at #2 doubles with Romi Meirovich and Claudia Rasilla earning a 6-4 win over Gabi Lerario and Johanna Thompson.
West Chester went up 2-0 with a win at #4 singles before Rasilla put the Griffins on the board with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Rachel Haupt at #5 singles. Meirovich tied the score at 2-2, defeating Lerario 6-2, 6-2 at #3 singles and Anisha Reddy Thada gave the Griffins a 3-2 lead with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Ellie Perrin.
Lilian Bandel clinched the match for Chestnut Hill, defeating Alex Cave, 6-2, 6-3 at #2 singles. Alison Isaac closed out the match with a 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6) win over Delaney Tingle at #1 singles.
The women's tennis team resumes conference play on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, with a match at Goldey-Beacom College. First serve is at 2:00 p.m.
