The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team's four-match win streak came to an end Friday night as Jefferson University swept the Griffins 3-0 at TJU's Gallagher Athletic Center in East Falls.
The Griffins fall to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games with the loss. The Rams improve to 5-9 overall and 1-1 in league play.
The Rams never trailed in winning the first match 25-17. The second set saw seven lead changes and 15 ties as Jefferson came away with a 25-23 win before taking the final set 25-19.
Erika Dubosky led the team with 14 kills with Cha'kya Johnson and Angela April adding eight and seven respectively. Dubosky and Pamela Uceta had two services aces apiece.
Mia Caporellie set the offense for Chestnut Hill with 31 assists. The senior setter also recorded a team-high 12 digs for her third double-double of the season.
Dubosky notched her fifth straight double-double, adding ten digs to go along with her 14 kills. Rachel Mace added 11 digs.
Jefferson was led by Emily McKenna's 15 kills. Caroline Bond had 33 assists while Cameron Johnson led all players with 19 digs.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, September 28, 2024, with a match at Shippensburg University. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
