The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team struggled offensively in Saturday's match against the University of Bridgeport, falling to the Purple Knights 3-0 at UB's Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The Griffins fall to 4-13 overall and 1-6 in Central Atlantic collegiate conference games. The Purple Knights improve to 5-13 overall and 5-2 in league play.
Bridgeport won the first set 25-15 before taking the next two 25-19 and 25-22.
Chestnut Hill finished the match with just 21 kills on the afternoon with Nicole Dimiris leading the way with eight and Sadie Bayko chipping in five. Kate Hanley led the team with three services aces while Sarah Allen had two. Sofia Rodriguez had 19 assists.
Defensively, Alex Crespin led the team with eight digs while Allen added four. Hanley, Rodrguez, Bayko and Katelyn Dougherty had three apiece. Bayko led the team with four blocks. Dimiris and Maya Hopson had three apiece.
For the game, the Purple Knights had 43 kills to CHC's 21 while the Griffins had nine total aces to UB's five. UB held a 45-28 advantage in digs while the Griffins had six team blocks to Bridgeport's four.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 when they host Jefferson University at Sorgenti Arena. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
