Playing in their first home match in Sorgenti Arena in 20 days, the Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team lost to Jefferson University 3-0 Tuesday night.
The loss was the Griffins' third straight as they fall to 4-14 overall and 1-7 in Central Atlantic Collegiate conference games.  The Rams improve to 7-10 overall and 3-5 in league play.
Chestnut Hill narrowly dropped the first set, 26-24 before the Rams handily took the next two 25-14 and 25-15.
Nicole Dimiris led the Griffins with a game-high nine kills. Sadie Bayko added eight while Kate Hanley and Maya Hopson had six and five respectively. Alex Crespin had the only two aces for the Griffins. Â
Sofia Rodriguez had 15 assists on the night while Caroline Croteau added 12.
On the defensive side, Katelyn Dougherty led the team with eight digs. Bayko, Hopson and Sarah Allen added five apiece with Lilian Bandel chipping in four. Dimiris and Hopson had two blocks apiece.
For the game, Jefferson had 35 kills on the night while the Griffins netted 31 and had a better attack percentage  (TJU .273 (35-11-88); CHC .109 (31-21-94). The Rams held an 8-2 advantage in service aces, and a 10-5 advantage in team blocks. Chestnut Hill recorded one more dig than the Rams (36-35)
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Thursday, October 23, 2025 with a road match at regional opponent Adelphi University. Tipoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
