Men's Tennis Team Competes at ITA Division II Atlantic Regionals

The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team concluded play at the ITA Division II Atlantic Regional Championship on Friday with graduate student Noah Cutting falling in the round of 16 in singles play.

Cutting along with doubles partner Pablo Cervera also reached the quarterfinal rounds in the doubles competition earning wins over Frostburg State, 8-6 in their round of 32 and Fairmont State, 8-3 in the round of 16.  In the quarterfinals, the duo lost to Ryan Bell and Botsami Marabola from the University of Charleston, 9-7.

In singles action, Cutting was the only Griffin player to advance into the round of 16, winnnig his first round match over Dang Nguyen of Kutztown, 6-3, 6-0.  An injury forced him to retire in his round of 16 match against Fabricio Soto of Edinboro in the second set, trailing 3-6, 4-5.

In other round of 32 matches, Cervera lost to Jacob Smolder of Fairmont  6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) while Alessio Lefebrve lost to Vicente Garcia of Charleston, 6-2, 6-3.  In the Griffins' final round of 32 match Enzo Puppi lost to Jheng Min Huang of West Virginia Wesleyan 6-4, 6-3.

The men's tennis team returns home to take on the University of the district of Columbia on Sunday, October 12, 2025.  First serve is 1:00 .p.m.
