The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team took to the courts Tuesday for a non-conference match with West Chester University, losing to the Golden Rams, 4-3 at the CHC Tennis Courts.

The Griffins fall to 4-5 on the season.  West Chester, playing in their first dual match of the year, is now 1-0.

The Golden Rams started the match by securing the doubles point.  WCU won at #3 doubles via a default before Claudia Rasilla and Veronika Lundgren earned a 6-0 win at #1 doubles over Alex Cave and Delaney Tingle.  The Golden Rams then took the point with a win at #2 doubles  with Rachel Haupt and Brigitte Gravelle defeating Elena Arenas Guisasola and Milicia Zagorac 7-6 )7-5).

West Chester quickly went up 3-0 in the match with Chestnut Hill defaulting at #6 singles and winning #5 singles due to retirement by Chestnut Hill player Lilian Bandel, who was unable to play due to injury.

Rasilla, Lundgren and Zagorac  all won their singles matches to even the score at 3-3.  Rasilla was a 6-1, 6-3 victor over Felicia Manful at #4 singles while Lundgren defeated Cave 6-3, 6-4 at #3 singles.  Zagorac  followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Gravelle at #2 singles.

West Chester then captured the match as Tingle defeated Arenas Guisasola at #1 singles, 6-3, 6-4.

The women's tennis team returns to action on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 when they host Jefferson University at the CHC Tennis Courts.  First serve is at 2:00 p.m., weather permitting.
