The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team hosted Goldey-Beacom College Wednesday night in their penultimate game of the 2025 season, falling to the Lightning in straight sets 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-18).
The Griffins fall to 5-21 overall and 2-12 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Lighting improve to 10-4 in league play and 16-11 overall.
Maya Hopson led the Griffins with nine kills while recording just one attack error in 17 attempts (.471 attack percentage). Micah McKenzie and Lilian Bandel had six kills apiece while Nicole Dimiris added five. Sofia Rodriguez had 26 assists setting the Chestnut Hill offense while Alex Crespin had two service aces.
On the defensive side, Rodriguez led the Griffins with eight digs while Crespin and Sarah Allen had seven apiece. Dimiris and Hopson had two blocks apiece.
For the game, the Lightning recorded ten more kills (39-29) and had ten fewer attack errors (9-19) than the Griffins. GBC had an attack% of .380 (39-9-79) while the Griffins finished with an attack percentage of .115 (29-19-87). The Lightning had a slight advantage in aces (6-5) and team blocks (5-4).
The women's volleyball team will play their final game of the 2025 season on Saturday, November 15, 2025 when they host Holy Family University at Sorgenti Arena. The game will also be the team's senior day. Tipoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
