Grififns Close Out Season with Dominant Win over Spartans

Xavier Limehouse scored three touchdowns as the Chestnut Hill College Sprint Football team closed out their 2025 season with a dominant 41-0 win over Saint Thomas Aquinas college in Sparkill, new York Friday night.

The Griffins finish their season with a 5-3 record, equaling the mark for most wins in a single season set back in 2019 and equaled last season.

Limehouse scored his first touchdown in the opening quarter on a 53-yard run with 1:01 left in the period.  Brady Reynolds followed with extra point to give the Griffins a 14-0 lead.

The sophomore running back's second touchdown was a five yard reception from Anthony Cancellare in the second quarter and his final score came in the third quarter, a one-yard run with 11:28, making the score 35-0 at the time.

Cancellare's touchdown pass to Limehouse was his third Touchdown toss of the night.  He connected with Aiden Neff from two yards out just five minutes into the game for Chestnut Hill's first score  and had a 70-yard touchdown pass to Ronnell Wheeler in the second quarter.

Up 35-0 heading into the fourth quarter, Reynolds took over the scoring duties, hitting a 33 yard field goal with 13:13 left to make the score 38-0  and then with time running down, broke the school record with a 41-yard field goal with 1:10 left.  His two field goals tie Dante Fuch's record of two field goals in a game, set back in 2018 at St. Thomas Aquinas.   Chestnut Hill's previous long field goal was 37 yards also set against STAC in 2021 by Hank Gallacher.

The 2025 season for the sprint football team has now come to a close.
