The Chestnut Hill college Women's Bowling Team started competition in their final tournament of the fall on Saturday, competing at the Coppin State Lady Eagles Invitational.
The Griffins dropped all five traditional format matches on the day to fall to 3-30 on the season.
Alexis Horton led the Griffins in the opening match as the team dropped an 897-0768 decision to Morgan State University. Horton bowled a score of 176, filling eight of ten frames and not missing a single pin spare attempt. Cora Olsen rolled a 165 while Jess Bolling had a score of 161. Olsen and Victoria Forbes also did not miss a single pin spare attempt in the match.
Olsen bowled a score of 200 in the second match, a 916-787 loss to host Coppin State, filling nine of ten frames. Forbes also filled nine of ten frames in the match.
Forbes had the Griffins high game in the third match, with a score of 198 as the Griffins lost to Kutztown 907-785. The senior bowler filled nine of ten frames and was 100% in single pin spare attempts. Horton filled eight of ten frames and made 50% of all her strike attempts.
Horton recorded a score of 166 to lead the Griffins in the fourth match as they fell to Howard University 798-640, filling eight of ten frames.
In the final match of the day, the Griffins lost to Saint Anselm College 789-602 with Olsen rolling the high game with a score of 156. Taylor Graham had a strike percentage of 40% in the match while Olsen and Forbes filled six of ten frames.
The women's bowling team resumes competition at the Lady Eagles Invitational on Sunday with the baker format match portion of the tournament.
