The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team won three of five Baker format matches on day two of the CACC Invitational meet at New city bowl in New City, New York on Sunday.
The Griffins are now 3-7 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matches and 3-25 overall with their first three wins of the season.
Chestnut Hill opened the day with a match against nationally ranked Felician University, defeating the #22 Golden Falcons 822-816 to capture their first win of the season. The Griffins had high games of 191 and 186 while a trio of bowlers, Alexis Horton, Victoria Forbes and Cora Olsen filled eight of ten frames each. Horton also made 100% of her single spare attempts in the match.
The Griffins dropped their next two matches, falling to Caldwell University, 855-711 and Wilmington University 762-745. The Griffins had a high game of 180 in the Caldwell loss with Jessica Bolling making 100% of her single pin spare attempts. Forbes filled nine of ten frames and Horton eight of ten in the Wilmington loss. Forbes also recorded a 50% strike percentage in the Wilmington match.
In the fourth match, Chestnut Hill narrowly defeated Holy Family University 770-766. Forbes and Taylor Graham filled eight of ten frames apiece in the match while Olsen made 100% on her single pin spare attempts.
The Griffins then took on Dominican University who was in first place place with an 8-1 record going into the final match. Chestnut Hill came away with a five-pin win 760-755, recording a high game of 171 in the contest. Horton and Graham filled seven of ten frames each while Forbes and Horton both converted 100% of their single pin spare opportunities.
The women's bowling team returns to action for the Coppin State Lady Eagles Invitational on November 15-16, 2025.
