The Chestnut Hill College Women's Basketball team had their three game winning streak snapped on Friday as Seton Hill University handed the team a 93-71 loss at Sorgenti Arena.
Chestnut Hill falls to 4-4 overall while Seton Hill improves to 4-2.
Tamia Washington led Chestnut Hill with 20 points (8-15 FG) while Sabria Mann and Tikyra Miller contributed 15 and 14 points respectively. Sara Tamoun added nine points and a team high eight rebounds and five assists. Mann added seven rebounds, six steals and four assists.
Seton Hill was paced by Hallie Cowans's 30 points (11-23 FG, 6-14 3FG).  Hailee Ford and Helene Cowan had 16 and 15 points respectively. Mia Kalich had 13 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.
A close first half turned into a big lead for Seton Hill in the third quarter as they outscored Chestnut Hill 27-19 to lead by 16 heading into the final period.  The visitors added to the lead as fourth quarter play continued, increasing  the margin to 20 points with 5:51 left and the home Griffins would get no closer than 18 the rest of the way.
Hallie Cowan scored 21 of her 30 points in the final two quarters.
Chestnut Hill held their only lead of the game in the opening minutes of the first quarter following two baskets from Tamoun and a free throw from Miller to produce a 5-2 lead with 6:28 left.  Seton Hill followed with a 13-2 run to take a 15-7 lead before settling in for a 20-13 advantage after one period.Â
Seton Hill scored the first six points of the quarter to increase their lead to double-digits, 26-13 before Chestnut Hill countered with seven straight points, five from Wahington and a basket from Bryce Harvey-Carr to pull within six, 26-20 with just over four minutes left. The visiting Griffins lead oscillated between seven and 11 points the rest of the quarter with a short jumper from Miller making the score 39-31 at the half.
For the game, Seton Hill shot 50.7% from the field (34-67) while Chestnut Hill shot 42.6% (29-68). The visitors outscored the host Griffins though, 30-6 from three point range  and also made four more free throws.   Seton Hill also held a large rebounding advantage 49-32.Â
The women's basketball team returns to action on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 when they host Holy Family University in a key conference clash. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
