Elizabeth Deal scored the first two lacrosse goals of her college career but the Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team dropped a 13-4 decision to Arcadia University Saturday morning at victory field in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.
The Griffins fall to 1-2 overall while the Knights improve to 5-2.
Deal led the Griffins with two goals while Kendall Gayton and Anna Sanverdine had a goal apiece. Allyson Smith had two assists. Abby Galazka led the team with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Molly Killion won four draw controls and had three ground balls. Deal also had three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Gayton won three draw controls. Erin McCarthy had six saves in net for Chestnut Hill.
Gayton got the Griffins on the board with a man-up goal with 8:35 left in the first quarter, cutting Arcadia's lead in half, 2-1.  Deal scored her first goal, the first of her career at Chestnut Hill with 8:42 left in the second quarter with Smith garnering the assist. Her goal made the score 6-2 in favor of the Knights.
Arcadia struck for six straight goals during the rest of the second quarter and almost all of the third before Deal notched her second goal of the game with five seconds left in the period, taking a pass from Killion and putting it past AU goalkeeper Emily Griffith for a 12-3 score.
Sanverdine added the Griffins final goal of the game as Smith recorded her second assist of the day as Chestnut Hill rounded out the scoring in the match with 6:42 left in the game.
Jaylee Kilgore had seven goals for the Knights.
The women's lacrosse team returns to action with a game at Georgian Court University on March26, 2025. First draw is at 3:00 p.m.
