Michael Pascoe's second three-run home run of the game capped a five-run ninth inning as the Chestnut Hill College baseball team rallied from a 12-7 deficit to send their game at Holy Family University into extra innings before exploding for sixth runs in the 12th inning to earn an 18-12 win Saturday at the James Ramp Athletic Complex.
The Griffins went on to earn a 4-2 win in game two of the doubleheader completing a sweep on the afternoon. Chestnut Hill improves to 3-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games and are now 8-7 overall. The Tigers are 3-9 overall and 1-3 in league play.
Pascoe becomes the 12th player in program history to hit two home runs in a single game. He finished the game with three hits and six RBI. Michael Benedetto III led the team with four hits. Aiden Myers continues to swing a hot bat, recording three hits. Jason Kelly also hit a home run.  Colby Seelig earned the win in relief, pitching four scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out three.
In game two Dylan Broderick tossed a complete game effort, allowing just two runs on four hits while string out five to earn his second win of the season. Nick Shiffler drove in two of the griffins four runs and was one of four players to record a double in the game.
Trailing 12-7 entering their final at-bat in the opener, Benedetto and Shiffler recorded back-to-back doubles to produce the first run of the inning. Shiffler later scored on a fielder's choice and two batters later; Pascoe blasted a home run to right field, his second three-run bomb of the day to tie the score at 12-12.
The score remained tied until the 12th inning when Chestnut Hill sent 11 batters to the plate, scoring six runs to take an 18-12 lead. Broderick singled to score Angus Moore with the go-ahead run and Justin Geiger delivered a two run single. A double steal plated Shawn Levan with the 17th run. And Benedetto doubled home Geiger with the 18th and final run. Seelig gave up a walk in the bottom half of the 12th before striking out the final two tigers to preserve the win.
Pascoe and Kelly blasted back-to-back home runs  in the first inning of the opener to start the day off right for the Griffins , staking CHC to a 4-0 lead. Benedetto added an RBI single to make the score 5-0.  Kelly had a sacrifice fly in fourth to push their lead to 6-0.
The Tigers scored runs in each of the next five innings to lead 12-7 before Pascoe's heroics in ninth to tie the game.
In game two, Benedetto and Pascoe both doubled to produce the first Griffins run in the first inning. The Tigers tied the score in the bottom of the second at 1-1. Shiffler added a two-run double in the top of the sixth to provide some insurance runs and a 3-1 lead. An infield error later plated Shiffler and the Griffins led 4-1. The Tigers scored once in their final at-bat before Broderick struck out Jon Martinez to end the game.
The baseball team returns to action on Tuesday, March 18 with a doubleheader against Dominican University in Orangeburg, New York. First pitch is at 3:00 p.m.
