Geiger Drives in Four but Baseball Team Falls to Cedarville

Justin Geiger drove in four runs but the Chestnut Hill College Baseball team lost ot Cedarville University 17-5 in the Griffins first game at the Wilson Tobs College Classic at Fleming Stadium in Wilson, North Carolina.

The Griffins fall to 4-3 with the loss.  The Yellow Jackets improves to 6-8.

Geiger had a single and a triple, driving in two runs with each hit.  Michael Pascoe also hit a solo home run.  Dylan Broderick took the loss, pitching 2.2 innings, giving up six runs (four earned) while striking out three.

Geiger got the Griffins on the scoreboard in the first inning delivering a two run triple.  Aiden Myers doubled with one out and Jason Kelly drew a two out walk before Geiger cleared the bases with his three-bagger.

An infield error by the Griffins in the second led to two runs as the Yellow Jackets tied the score at 2-2.  Cedarville added four more in the third to take a 6-2 lead before Chestnut Hill got one back with Pascoe's solo home run in the bottom of the third to make the score 6-3.

Cedarville added a solo run in the fourth and plated four more I n the fifth to increase their lead to 11-3.  Yellow Jackets pitcher Coen Ball walked the bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the fifth to bring up Geiger who delivered a second two-RBI hit, a single to score Pascoe and Myers and make the score 11-5.

The Yellow Jackets added six additional runs in the final three innings to complete the 17-5 win.  Ball earned the win for CU.  Micah George had a double, triple and home run to pace the Yellow Jacket offense.

The baseball team returns to action on Friday, March 7, 2025 when they face Glenville State for their second game at the Wilson Tobs College Classic.  First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
