Women's Lacrosse Team Defeated by Jefferson

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team dropped their penultimate game of the season Tuesday night, falling to Jefferson University 18-4 at victory Field in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.

The Griffins are now 2-8 overall and 2-6 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games with the loss. The Rams improve to 7-7 overall and 5-1 in league play.

Molly Killion scored two of the Griffins' goals while Elizabeth Deal had a goal and an assist. Kendall Gayton also scored for the Griffins.

Killion led the team, winning four draw controls while Gayton won three. Abby Galazka had three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Lyikiea Anderson had four saves in the first half in net for Chestnut Hill, giving up 11 goals while Erin McCarthy gave up the final seven TJU tallies and had two saves.

Jefferson jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter. Killion got the Griffins on the Griffins on the board at the 13:41 mark of the second quarter with Deal getting the assist. She added her second goal of the game, an unassisted score with 2:06 left. Deal scored an unassisted goal  with 1:21 left in the second quarter to make the score 11-3 as the teams broke for halftime.

The Rams tallied six unanswered goals in the third and fourth quarters before Gayton scored with 5:03 left in the game. Elena Arenas Guisasola assisted on the goal.

Gabby Modzeleski led the Rams with four goals while Reagan Rogers had two goals and six assists.

The women's lacrosse team will play their final game of the season on Saturday, April 19, 2025, when they host Felician University. Prior to the game the team will honor their senior players with the first draw being scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
