The Chestnut Hill Women's volleyball team suffered their first loss of the 2026 season falling to West Chester University 3-0 at WCU's Hollinger Fieldhouse Wednesday evening.
West Chester won the opening set 25-21 and went on to take the final two 25-18 and 25-22. The Griffins fall to 1-1 overall while the Golden Rams improve to 4-0.
Kate Hanley led the Griffins with ten kills while Nicole Dimiris had seven. Maya Hopson and Kass Kimmel had six kills apiece. Sofia Rodriguez set the offense for Chestnut Hill with 26 assists.
Sarah Allen had two of the Griffins' five service aces, however, Â as a team Chestnut Hill struggled with their serving game, committing ten total service errors.
Rodriguez also led the team with seven digs while Alex Crespin added six. Allen and Kimmel had five digs apiece. Dimiris had three blocks (one solo) while Hopson added two solo blocks.
WCU's Abiah Lane led all players with 12 kills while Lacie Brown had 30 assists, two aces and ten digs. Anna Richardson recorded a game-high 12 digs.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Thursday, September 11, 2025, when they travel to face Queens College in flushing, New York. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
