Rachel Mace recorded the 1,000th dig of her career as the Chestnut Hill College Women's volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision to Shippensburg University Wednesday night at Sorgenti Arena.
Shippensburg  won the first set 25-18 and then swept the next two 25-20 and 25-14. The Griffins fall to 5-11 overall while the Raiders improve to 10-6.
Mace becomes the ninth player in program history to record 1,000 career digs. She is the third fastest player in program history to reach the milestone, hit the mark in just 276 sets played. Only Regina Trabosh (176) and Elizabeth DiGregorio (197).
The senior libero entered the contest 18 digs shy of the milestone mark. After recording 12 digs in the first set, Mace hit the milestone with her sixth and final dig of the second set, making the score 22-20 at the time.
Mace finished the match with 21 digs to lead all players. Sarah Allen added ten digs.
Micah McKenzie led the Griffins with seven kills while Kass Kimmel and Kayle Arozio chipped in six apiece. Alex Crespin had five aces. Sofia Rodriguez led all players with 21 assists.

For the game, the Raiders recorded 32 kills while the Griffins had 27. Chestnut Hill doubled up Shippensburg 6-3 in aces while The raiders doubled up the Griffins in team blocks 2-1. The Raiders also out-dug the Griffins 65-59.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, October 3, 2026 when they host Caldwell University at Sorgenti Arena. Tipoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
