The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team dropped a hard fought contest to defending conference champion Wilmington University Friday, 4-3 at the CHC Tennis Courts.
The Griffins fall to 7-4 overall and 5-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate conference games. They move into a tie with Wilmington in the conference standing with both teams holding a 5-4 league record.
The Wildcats started off with a sweep of the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead in the contest.
Wilmington took a 2-0 lead with a win at #5 singles before Veronika Lundgren got the Griffins on the board with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Leandra Schieri at #3 singles.  Fabienne Lahn tied the match at 2-2 defeating Nia Lewis 6-4, 6-2 at #6 singles before the Wildcats won the next two matches in three sets at the #1 and #2 singles slots to clinch the match.
Lilian Bandel earned the Griffins final point, defeating Anna Marry in a marathon contest that included three tiebreakers at #4 singles, 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-4), 1-0 (10-7).
The women's tennis team returns to action on Sunday,  October 4, 2026 when they host Post University. First serve is at 12:00 p.m.
