Track Teams Open Season at Frank Colden Invitational

The Chestnut Hill College women's and Men's Track and Field Team opened their 2026 season with an indoor meet, competing at the Frank Colden Invitational at Bakes Field House on the campus of Ursinus College on Saturday.

Four women and five men competed on Saturday with the majority competing in the sprint events along with an entries in the hurdles, mid-distance events and a pair of field events.

In the women's 60-meter hurdles, senior Gabby Hassler made her collegiate debut in the event and ran the second fastest time in program history with a time of12.34 seconds.  The time was just .01 seconds off the school record of 12.33 seconds.  She finished in 22nd place overall.

Hassler also competed in the 400 meter dash, finishing 20th overall with a time of 1:10.81 and ranking among the Griffins' top ten all-time indoor marks for the event in program history.

Soleil Casseus also competed in the 400 meter dash, finishing 30th with a time of 1:15.93.

In the 60 meter dash, DeAnna Otero finished with a time of 8.96 seconds for her preliminary heat.  Otero also competed in the 200 meter dash, finishing with a time of 30.90 seconds.

Rounding out the women's competitors was Gesielyz Sanchez, who made her collegiate debut in the shot put.  Sanchez finished with a final distance of 5.69 meters (18'8").

On the men's side, junior Ryan O'Hara  competed in the 800 meter and mile run events.  In the mile, O'Hara finished with a time of 5:17.26, placing 28th overall, while in the 800-meter run later in the meet, he placed 30th overall with a time of 2:20.61.  O'Hara's 800-meter time was the ninth fastest indoor 800-meter time in program history.

The sprint races saw the collegiate debut of four Chestnut Hill runners.  Andrew Daley was the Griffins top finisher in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.62 seconds.  Brennan Hasbrouck followed with a time of 7.73 seconds.  Rounding out the Griffins four runners in the 60 meter dash were Moussa Coulibaly and Yarie Rams with times of 7.74 and 8.49 seconds, respectively.

Daley also made his debut in the long jump event, placing 11th overall with a distance of 6.00 meters (19' 8¼").  His jump was the ninth longest indoor long jump performance in program history.

Coulibaly, Hasbrouck and Ramas rounded out their day competing in the 200 meter dash.  Coulibaly placed 28th overall with a time of 24.47 seconds, the 12th fastest indoor 2900-meter time  in program history.    Hasbrouck and Ramas finished with times of 26.22 and 28.63 seconds, respectively.

The track and field teams return to action on Saturday, February 14, 2026 as they compete at the Widener Indoor Classic at the Ott Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
