The Chestnut Hill College Men's Track and Field team closed out the regular season Saturday at the 21st Annual Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday, hosted by Shippensburg university in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.
Six athletes took part in the meet, with the majority of the Griffins competing in the sprint events.
The 100-meter dash was first up for the Griffins with Kyree Griffin and Andrew Daley finishing the race in 11.62 seconds and 11.78 seconds, respectively. For Daley this was his first collegiate 100-meter race.
Griffin and Daley were also part of the 4x100 meter relay along with Moussa Coulibaly and Lucas Iuliucci. The quartet raced to a season best time of 44.75 seconds, placing seventh in the event.
Coulibaly then ran in the 40 meter dash, finishing with a time of 58.76 seconds.
Meanwhile Daley moved over to the field events, competing in the long jump. He finished 17th overall with a mark of 5.64 meters (18'6"). Michael Lopez-Zabala was also competing in the field events, specifically the javelin throw. He finished 18th overall with a toss of 39.99 meters (131' 2").
Griffin and Coulibaly concluded the competition for the Griffins in the 200-meter dash. Griffin finished in 23.61 seconds while Coulibaly finished in 24.22 seconds.
Next up for the men's team will be the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship on May 1-2 at Georgian Court University. The Griffins will be represented by Lopez-Zabala in the javelin throw as well as both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams with the aforementioned runners competing in the 4x100 meter relay along with possibly Marvin Dozier and Brennan Hasbrouck.   Ryan O'Hara and Y'arie Ramas could join two of the 4x100 runner to compete in the 4x400 meter relay.
