Four players scored multiple goals as the Chestnut Hill College Men's Lacrosse team cruised to a 20-6 win over Holy Family University Wednesday night at Tiger Field in Northeast Philadelphia.
The Griffins improve to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games with the win. The Tigers fall to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in league play.
Will Duddy led the way with four goals for the Griffins while Preston Page added three goals and two assists for five points. Jake Ballerini also had five points on two goals and three assists while Aidan Walsh added two goals and an assist for three points. Jonathan Bartolomei also had three points (1 goal, 2 assists)
Carter Getz led the Griffins with 15 ground balls, many by  winning 22 of 28 faceoffs in the contest. Walsh added seven ground balls. Silas Charles and Matthew Miller had four ground balls apiece. Charles, Brady DeRome and Thomas Gallagher had two caused turnovers apiece. Adam Daley gave up five goals and had eight saves.
Page put the Griffins on the board just 34 seconds into the game, taking a pass from Walsh and finding the back of the net. Â Â The Tigers scored twice in the first quarter to lead 2-1 after one period of play.
Chestnut Hill scored six unanswered goals in the second quarter. Duddy had two goals in the period with Walsh, Cole Pedroso, Colin Swiderski, and Ballerini tallying the other four scores. Charles Cox assisted on Walsh's goal while Pedroso's was a man-up tally. Page assisted on Ballerini's goal which gave the Griffins a 7-2 lead at halftime.
Six different players scored a total of seven goals in the third, extending the Griffins run to 13 unanswered goals as they took a 14-2 lead. Page and Ballerini started the scoring with two early goals, followed by Duddy's third goal of the game. Cox added his name into the goal tally at the 9:52 mark and Bartolomei at 7:31. Page completed the hat-trick with a man up goal at the 5:17 mark. Landon Hare rounded out the third quarter scoring at the 4:35 mark.Â
Holy Family scored the final two goals of the period to trail 14-4 heading into the fourth quarter.Â
The Griffins again exploded for six goals in the final quarter with Duddy tallying his fourth score of the game just 44 seconds into the period. Walsh followed with his second score of the game 65 seconds later. Francis Sebold scored with 11:10 left followed by Matthew Miller at the 8:00 mark. Brady DeRome and Resse Gilmore scored the final Chestnut Hill goals.
The men's lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, March 14, 2026 when they host Dominican University at Victory field. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
