Michael Pascoe had four hits and Wyatt Spinks hit a home run for the second consecutive day as the Chestnut Hill College Baseball team defeated Dominican University, 8-4, Sunday afternoon at Clover Stadium in Pomona, N.Y.
The Griffins improve to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Chargers fall to 6-10 overall and 3-3 in league play.
Noah Tincher earned the win for the Griffins, tossing six innings , allowing two runs on seven hits . Pascoe drove in three runs on his 4-for-6 effort while Matthew Sharkey had two RBI and two hits. Spinks also had a single to go along with his solo home run.
The Griffins jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the game as Pascoe reached on an error and Kenyon Motley scored. Motley had doubled to lead off the game and was sacrificed to third.
Pascoe scored the griffins' second run via a two out error and Sharkey added an RBI double to score Jackson Shollenberger to give CHC a 3-0 lead. Pascoe drove in two more runs with a single in the fifth, plating Spinks and Michael Melosky (both reached on singles.
The Chargers got one run back in the bottom of the fifth off a leadoff home run by Chad Falcon. Spinks led of the sixth with a home run to left field. Nicholas Shiffler drew a one out walk and then scored on Shollenberger's triple. Sharkey followed with a single to score Shollenberger, making the score 8-1.
Dominican added one run in the sixth and two more in the eighth. Rich Bonino came on to pitch the ninth, giving up a leadoff single before retiring the next three batters to close out the game and give the Griffins the win, 8-4.
The baseball team returns to action with a single game on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, taking on Wilmington University at Hostelley Field. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
