A young Chestnut Hill College Men's Track and Field team opened their 2026 outdoor season on Saturday, competing at the WCU Purple and Gold Invitational hosted by West Chester University.
The team featured five newcomers among the seven athletes competing, with seven athletes altogether competing in a total of seven different events.
Senior Michael Lopez-Zabala competed in the javelin throw, placing 14th with a toss of 41.26 meters (135'4"). Junior Ryan O'Hara competed in both the 800 and 1,500 meter runs. He finished the 1,500 in 4:46.12 while finishing the 800 in 2:22.13.
Freshman Y'arie Ramas also competed in the 800 meter race, making his collegiate debut in the event and finishing in 2:26.53.
The sprint events saw all four runners making their collegiate outdoor track debut. The team opened the day with the 4x100 meter relay. The team of Brennan Hasbrouck, Marvin Dozier, Moussa Coulibaly and Kyree Griffin finished sixth in the race with a time of 46.35 seconds.
Coulibaly went on to compete in 400 meter dash finishing with a time of 1:02.12.
Griffin, Dozier and Hasbrouck competed in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events. Griffin was the top Chestnut Hill runner in both races, finishing the 100 in 11.75 seconds, placing 24th overall and the 200 in 23.96 seconds (31st overall) Dozier recorded times of 12.57 for the 1200 and 25.69 for the 200 while Hasbrouck had times of 12.66 for the 100 meter race and 24.96 for the 200.
