Dominican University snapped the Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team's three game winning streak as both teams opened conference play with the chargers defeating the Griffins 21-2 Saturday at O'Brien Field in Orangeburg, New York.
The Griffins fall to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Chargers improve to 1-0 in league play and 4-3 overall.
Molly Miller and Bryce Westervelt scored the only goals for Chestnut Hill. DeAnna Otero and Maddie Brazukas had three ground balls apiece while Miller won four draw controls and Westervelt three. Mel Amador had 15 saves for the Griffins
Dominican jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter before Westervelt put the Griffins on the board, taking a pass from Gen Washington-Vasquez at the 6:00 minute mark to make the score 3-1. Â
Molly Miller scored on a free position shot with 8:25 left in the second quarter, making the score 9-2 at the time. The chargers scored five more goals after Millers score to lead 14-2 at halftime.
Dominican added seven goals in the second half to complete the 21-2 win.
The women's lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, March 28, 2026 when they host the University of Bridgeport at Victory Field in Lafayette Hill. First draw is set for 1:00 p.m.
