The Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team returned home for their second conference game of the season  facing the University of Bridgeport Saturday afternoon at Victory Field #1 in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.  The Griffins second half rally fell short as the Purple Knights pulled out a 13-7 win.

The Griffins fell to 4-3 overall sand 0-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  The Purple Knights improved to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Elizabeth Deal recorded the second hat-trick of her career and this season with three goals while Kendall Gayton added two.  Chestnut Hill also got goals from Molly Miller and Samantha Martin.   Deal and Otero led the team with four ground balls apiece with Deal also recording three caused turnovers on the afternoon.  Gayton won six draw controls.   Mel Amador had nine saves in goal for the Griffins.

The Griffins trailed 8-2 at halftime with Deal scoring both goals, the first assisted by Martin early in the second quarter and the second goal assisted by Bryce Westervelt in the final 90 seconds of the period.

Gayton scored back-to-back goals to start the Griffins comeback in the third quarter and Miller added a goal with 6:15 left in the period to make the score 8-5.  The Purple Knights scored their only goal of the third quarter with 3:20 left before Ryley Geary passed the ball to Martin who shot and found the back of the net to again pull the Griffins within three 9-6 with 2:11 left.

Deal tallied her third goal of the game just 51 seconds into the fourth quarter to close the gap to two, 9-7.  Bridgeport went on to tally four unanswered and unassisted goals to round out the scoring as they came away with a 13-7 win.
