The Chestnut Hill College Men's Lacrosse team rallied from a four-goal halftime deficit to take a lead late in the game against nationally Ranked Molloy University only to see the Lions tie the game with seconds left to force overtime and score the game winner in the extra frame to hand the Griffins a 12-11 loss.
The Griffins fall to 4-4 on the season. The Lions, ranked #13 in the most recent USILA Division II poll, improve to 7-2.
Preston Page scored three goals while Will Duddy and Matthew Miller had two goals apiece. Jake Ballerini handed out four assists. Aiden Walsh led the team with five ground balls while Daniel Myers added four. Myers led the team with three caused turnovers while Page added two. Adam Daley had nine saves in goal.
Molloy outscored the Griffins 5-1 in the second quarter to take a 7-3 lead by halftime. Duddy scored the first of his two goals 45 seconds into the third quarter and Charles Cox added a goal 68 seconds later to cut the deficit in half 7-5. Miller then added his second goal of the game at the 12:32 mark to pull the Griffins within one 7-6 with Ballerini get the assist. Ballerini assisted on Page's goal at the 6:02 mark, tying the game.
Following a Molloy score, Walsh scored a man-up goal with 3:39 left with Ballerini getting his third assist of the game to even things up at 8-8. One more Molloy goal in the third made the score 9-8 heading into the final period.
Page scored his third goal of the game at the 12:25 mark in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 9-9. Ballerini again had the assist. Less than four minutes later Jonathan Bartolomei dodged and drove through several Molloy defenders to  give the Griffins their first lead since early in the opening quarter, 10-9. The Lions tied the score again 54 seconds later.
The score remained tied until the 2:33 mark when Duddy scored his second goal of the game while the Griffins were a man-up, giving Chestnut Hill an 11-10 lead. The Griffin defense held off the Lions until the final seconds with the Lions tying the score at 11-11 with just 5.7 seconds remaining. The Lions added the game-winner with 54 seconds left in the overtime.
The men's lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, April 4, 2026 with a game at Felician University.. The game is set to start at 4:00 p.m.
