Griffins Offense Explodes as Chestnut Hill Records Sweep against Lincoln

The Griffins improve to 10-11 overall and 7-6 in Central Atlantic Collegiate conference games.  The Lions fall to 5-20 overall and 2-10 in league play.

Wyatt Spinks continued his hot hitting in the first game with a 4-for-5 effort and four RBI.  Two of his four hits were doubles.  Michael Pascoe hit a two-run home run and pitched six innings to earn his first win of the season, giving up four earned runs while striking out seven  George Conway pitched the final three innings, allowing just one earned run to earn his first collegiate save.

The two teams exchanged runs in the first inning and the Lions scored again in the second to take a 2-1 lead.   Chestnut hill countered with seven runs in their half of the second to lead 8-2. 

Nicholas Shiffler led off the inning getting hit by a pitch and came around to score the tying run on Dylan Broderick's single. Michael Melosky singled and Angus Moore walked to load the bases.  Kenyon Motley brought home the go-ahead run with a single and Spinks followed with a bases-clearing double to give the Griffins a 6-2 lead.  Spinks later stole home as part of a double steal  and Jackson Shollenberger lifted a sacrifice fly to plate CHC's seventh run of the inning.

After the Lions scored five runs in the top half of the third to pull within one 8-7, a sacrifice fly by Motley in the third added to the Griffins' lead.  Shiffler delivered a two-run double in the fourth and later scored on Moore's infield ground out to push the Griffins ;lead to 12-7.

Pascoe hit a two-run bomb over the left field fence in the sixth inning to make the score 14-7 and Spinks singled to score Moore with the Griffins' final run in the eighth.

Game two saw more of the same offensive output that was present in game one.  Shollenberger hit a three run home run in the fifth inning and had four RBI in the game.  Pascoe hit his second home run in as many games, a solo shot over the centerfield fence in the first inning and Matthew Sharkey hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning.

Noah Tincher earned the win to improve to 2-1 on the season. He pitched four innings, giving up two earned runs.  Brady Gustitus pitched the final three innings to earn the save.

The Griffins struck for six runs in the first inning with Pascoe's bomb over the centerfield fence setting the tone. Matthew Sharkey  recorded a single to score Aiden Myers with the second run.  Shiffler singled home the third run and Anthony Jakeman was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring in a fourth.  A fielder's choice and an error by the Lions brought home two more runs to give Chestnut hill a 6-1 lead

An infield groundout off the bat of Jakeman added to the Griffins lead in the third inning and the Griffins put up another big inning in the fourth, plating five runs to take a 12-2 lead.  Shiffler delivered the loan hit in the inning, an RBI single to score Myers who had walked earlier in the inning.   Three of the Griffins five runs in the inning came on wild pitches.

A four run fifth inning, highlighted by Shollenberger's three run blast to centerfield, increased the lead to 16-4.  Myers doubled home Pascoe earlier in the inning.  Sharkey's two run home run in the sixth inning provided the final runs for the Griffins.

The Chestnut Hill baseball team concludes their season series with the Lions on Sunday, March 29, 2026 with a single game at Lincoln University.  First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
