Eight Personal bests and One CACC Qualifier Highlight Griffins' Performance at Ursinus College Springfest

Eight personal best marks were set  and one athlete qualified for the upcoming conference championship meet as the Chestnut Hill College Men's Track and Field team competed at the Ursinus College Springfest in Collegeville, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Seven of the eight personal best marks were set in the sprint events while the CACC qualifier came in the javelin competition.

Michael Lopez-Zabala threw the javelin 42.01 meters (137'10") to place 18th in the event and qualify for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Meet in May. The distance was just .13 meters (about five inches)  off he personal best set last season at the CACC Championship meet.

 Kyree Griffin recorded personal best marks both the 100 and 200 meter dash events as did Marvin Dozier.  Griffin finished the 100 in 11.60 seconds and the 200 in 23.29 seconds.  Dozier turned in a time of 12.25 seconds in the 100 meters and 24.65 seconds in the 200 meters.  Brennan Hasbrouck also set a personal best in the 100 meters with a time of 12.49 seconds.

Moussa Coulibaly, competing in his first 100 and 200 meter races of his collegiate career, established personal best times of 11.70 seconds for the 100-meter dash and 23.27 seconds for the 200-meter event.

Chestnut Hill's 4x100 meter relay team of Hasbrouck, Dozier, Coulibaly and Griffins also ran a season time of 45.69 seconds, placing 13th overall.

Ryan O'Hara was the top NCAA Division II and CACC finisher in the 3,000 meter steeplechase finishing sixth overall with a time of 11:09.50.  O'Hara also competed in the 1,500 meter run finishing with a time of 4:43.22.

Rounding out the competitors was Lucas Iuliucci in the long jump. Competing for the first time in the event as a collegian, Iuliucci established a personal best jump of 5.99 meters (19'8") placing 18th overall.

The men's track and field team returns to action on Saturday, April 11, 2026 when they compete at the Oscar Moore Classic hosted by Rowan University.
