The Chestnut Hill College Baseball played in their final road game and their penultimate conference game of the 2026 regular season Sunday afternoon, falling to the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights 11-6 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The Griffins fall to 21-20 overall and 17-14 I  Central Atlantic collegiate conference gamers. The Purple Knights improve to 20-23 overall and 16-16 in league play.
Six Griffin players had at least one hit with Kenyon Motley, Wyatt Spinks and Nicholas Shiffler recording two each. Michael Pascoe drove in two runs. Mason Adkins took the loss, pitching five innings and allowing four runs (two earned) no seven hits while striking out five.
Motley and Spinks singled to start the game with both runners moving into scoring position on the throw to attempt to put out Motley at third. Pascoe then grounded out to score Motley and Aiden Myers singled to score Spinks to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead.
Motley delivered an RBI single in the second to make the score 3-1Â before the Purple Knights tied the game with two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Bridgeport took the lead with one run in the  bottom of the third inning and added three more runs in the sixth to hold a 7-3 lead.
Pascoe's sacrifice fly in the eight pulled the Griffins within three 7-4 but the Purple Knights plated four runs in the bottom half of the eighth inning to take a commanding 11-4 lead.
In the Griffins final at-bat, Shiffler scored on a wild pitch and Spinks singled to score Ryan McNichol with the final run of the 11-6 loss.
The baseball team will play their final regular season game on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 when they host Caldwell University at Hostelley field. First pitch is at 6 p.m.
