Griffins Complete Season Sweep of Golden Falcons with a 5-4 Win

The Chestnut Hill College Baseball team completed a three game season sweep of Felician University  Saturday afternoon, defeating the Golden Falcons 5-4 st Breslin field in Lyndhurst, new Jersey

The Griffins improve to 14-12 overall and 11-7 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  The Golden falcons fall to 9-9 in league play and 17-15 overall.

Michael Pascoe earned the win, pitching six innings and allowing four runs on four hits.  George Conway pitched the final three innings to pick up his second save of the season.

Aiden Myers capped off a solid week with a three-hit performance while Angus Moore added two hits.  Kenyon Motley had a triple and an RBI while Jackson Shollenberger had a double and an RBI. Matthew Sharkey also had an RBI on the afternoon.

Sharkey drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning, plating Motley who brought home  Moore with the tying run with his triple to right center field.

Now leading 5-4, Conway entered the game in the seventh inning and retired the first seven batters he faced before Felician's Ernesto Polanco hit a one out single in the ninth inning. Conway then induced a popup and a flyout to the next two Felician batters to secure the win for Pascoe and earn the save.

Shollenberger's double in the first inning had put the Griffins on the board, scoring Pascoe from second and giving Chestnut Hill a 1-0 lead.

The Golden Falcons scored twice in the bottom half of the second inning, but the Griffins came back to retake the lead with two runs in the third.  A walk to Pascoe and a single from Myers put two runners on base for Shollenberger who reached on an error by the Felician centerfielder which allowed both base runners to score.

Batting in the bottom of the fourth, Felician tied the score, scoring their run on an infield groundout and then took a 4-3 lead in the fifth on a Bryce Curry RBI single.

Moore had singled with one out in the seventh and stole second before Motley's triple tied the game.  Four pitches later Sharkey  flied out to right field, scoring Motley with the eventual winning run.

The baseball team returns to action with a game on Monday April 6, 2026 at West Chester University.  First pitch is 3 p.m. This game is also the first round game of the Bills Giles Invitational Tournament.
