The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team came away with a split of their tri-match at Kutztown University on Sunday, losing to the host Bears 3-0 while defeating Caldwell University 3-1.
The Griffins improve to 4-6 overall. Kutztown is now 10-1 and Caldwell drops to 2-4.
Against Caldwell, the Griffins dropped the first set 25-20 before winning the next three, 25-18, 25-21, 25-21.
Macayla Lindner recorded a double-double with 18 kills and 15 digs. Micah McKenzie added 11 while Alex Crespin and Kayle Arozio had nine and eight kills respectively. Sofia Rodriguez led the team with 38 assists while Sarah Allen had three aces.
On the defensive side, Rachel Mace led four Chestnut Hill players reaching double digits for digs with 19. Lindner and Rodriguez added 15 apiece with Rodriguez notching a double-double in the process. Crespin added 13 digs. Arozio had six blocks in the match while Lyla Bechtel added five
For the match, the Griffins had 53 kills while Caldwell recorded 42. Chestnut Hill had an 80-73 advantage in digs and a 6-2  advantage in aces while Caldwell had an 8-7 advantage in team blocks.
Kutztown swept the Griffins with scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-22.
Lindner also led the team in their earlier match against Kutztown, recording 12 while Arozio added nine. Rodriguez led the team with 28 assists and Carolyn Croteau had two of the Griffins four aces in the match.
Mace led the team with 21 digs.
The Bears held a 43-35 advantage in kills while hitting .283 (43-11-113). KU also had three more digs (50-47) and three more team blocks (5-2) than the Griffins.
The women's volleyball team opens conference play on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 when they travel to play Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
