The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team dropped their second consecutive match to conference newcomer Queen's College Friday afternoon, falling 5-2 to the Knights in Flushing, New York.
The Griffins fall to 5-3 overall and 3-3 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Knights improve to 7-1 overall and in conference play.
Chestnut Hill took the early lead by winning the doubles point  Tia Kaukenas and Fabienne Lahn started things off with a 6-3 win over Elise Bosmans and Vilte Vaitkeviciute at #3 doubles. Milica Zagorac and Veronika Lundgren dropped their #2 doubles match to Ela Vasic and Johanne Genestay, 6-4 before Lilian Bandel and Elena Arenas Guisasola captured the doubles point for the Griffins with a 6-3 win over Sixtine Goubet and Lilie Bizouerne at #1 doubles.
Queens took control in singles play, winning at number one, two, three and five to clinch the match. Lahn made the score 4-2 with a thrilling three-set win over Vaitkeviciute , 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 at #6 singles. The Knights took the final point as Genestay defeated Bandel in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at #4 singles.
The women's tennis team returns to action on Monday, September 28, 2026 when they travel to face Saint Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, New York. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m.
