The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team got back on thee winning track Tuesday afternoon, defeating Post University 6-1 at Edgewood Bath and Tennis in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Chestnut Hill improves to 6-3 overall and 4-3 in Central Atlantic collegiate conference matches while the Eagles drop to 0-8 overall and 0-7 in league play.
The Griffins opened the match by sweeping the three doubles contests to earn the doubles point. Veronika Lundgren and Milica Zagorac started things off with a 6-1 win over Savannah Croft and Juana Espana at #2 doubles. Tia Kaukenas and Fabienne Lahn followed with a 6-0 win over Bintu Drame and Laura Kotala at #3 doubles. Elena Arenas Guisasola and Lilian Bandel completed the doubles sweep with a 6-2 win at #1 doubles over Ana Vasilis and Julie Merlin.
Kaukenas made the score 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-0  win over Croft and #5 singles. Arenas Guisasola followed with a 6-0, 6-1 straight set win over Kotala at #3 singles. Bandel then clinched the match for the Griffins, defeating Espana 6-0, 6-1 at #4 singles to give Chestnut Hill a 4-0 lead.
Post scored their only point with a win at #1 singles, before Zagorac earned a 7-5, 6-3 win at #2 singles over Merlin. Lahn scored the Griffins final point with a straight set sweep, 6-0, 6-0 at #6 singles.
The women's tennis team returns home to face the University of the District of Columbia on Thursday, October 1, 2026 for a 2:00 p.m. match at the CHC Tennis Courts.
