The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team took on regional rival Molloy University facing the Lions in Rockville Centre, New York. The Griffins came away with a 3-1 win, their first against the Lions since the 2016 season.
The Griffins improve to 2-3 with the win. Molloy falls to 1-4.
Molloy won the first set 25-11 before the griffins rebounded to take the next three, 26-24, 25-22 and 25-18.
Kass Kimmel led the Griffins with 12 kills while Macayla Lindner added 11. Micah McKenzie chipped in nine kills. Sofia Rodriguez dished out 33 assists setting the Chestnut Hill offense. Seven different players had at least one service ace with Kimmel leading the way with three.
On the defensive side Rachel Mace had 26 digs. Parys Boykin had four blocks while Lindner and Alex Crespin had two apiece.
For the game, the Griffins recorded a .127 attack percentage (40-25-118) while the Lions hit .220 (43-16-125). The Griffins had two more aces (11-9) than the Lions and took advantage of 18 service errors from Molloy (compared to 11 from Chestnut Hill). The Griffins held a 55-45 advantage in digs while both teams finished with five team blocks.
The women's volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, April 5, 2026 when they face Mercy University in Dobbs Ferry New York. Tipoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
