Mayer Mark at FPU Fall Invitational Scores CACC Golf Weekly Honor Roll Appearance
New Haven, Conn. - (9/11/2019) – Senior Shawn Mayer (Brick, N.J.) paired a 74 (+2) with his day-one 78 (+6) to serve as the top Griffin on the Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational’s individual leaderboard as he tied for 24th with a two-day total of 152 (78-74, +8) strokes. For his effort, Mayer was recognized on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Golf Weekly Honor Roll.
Chestnut Hill College played their first round of the 2019-2020 season on Sunday, September 8, as they combined for 334 (+46) strokes and resided 13th place in a 14-team field at the Franklin Pierce University (FPU) Fall Invitational. Mayer was the Griffins' top performer, tying for 26th in the individual leaderboard after his round of 78 (+6). The Scarlet and Gold improved upon their day-one standing with a day-two 308 (+20) that landed them in 10th place with 642 (+66) strokes. Mayer paired a 74 (+2) with his day-one 78 (+6) to remain the top Griffin on the individual leaderboard; he tied for 24th with a two-day total of 152 (78-74, +8) strokes.
