Rees Earns CACC Men’s Lacrosse Honor Roll Recognition With Historic Performance in Triumph Over Battlers

New Haven, Conn. - (3/9/2020) – Junior attackman Carson Rees (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) scored eight goals in the Chestnut Hill College’s recent 29-4 victory at Alderson Broaddus University. The performance was historic for both the Griffins and Rees alike as the Chestnut Hill College established program-bests in single-game goals (29) and margin of victory (25), while the Scarlet and Gold captain broke the 100 career-goals plateau with his sixth tally (21-2, 10:53 3QTR) of the affair. Rees’ performance earned his a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll.

Chestnut Hill College (4-1) thrived from the opening faceoff as and junior attack J.R. Howell (East Meadow, N.Y.) each had hat tricks by the end of the first quarter; 12-2. Howell played a role in four of the Scarlet and Gold's seven goals in the second period, scoring three and assisting on one. Rees scored twice in the frame, helping the Griffins to a 19-2 halftime lead before depositing his historic goal early in the third quarter; 21-2 (10:53). Chestnut Hill College continued to pour it on after the accomplishment as 10 Griffins scored goals in the outing.

Rees took 13 shots in all and finished the contest with nine points, providing assists on tallies from Howell’s game-opening goal (1-0, 14:26 1QTR) and a third-quarter score from junior midfielder Billy DiMaio (Holmdel, N.J.) (23-2, 4:30 3QTR).
