Hopkins’ Mound Work In Florida 
Garners Honorable Mention from CACC
 
New Haven, CT – (3/12/2012) – Junior pitcher Bob Hopkins (Philadelphia, PA) earned an Honorable Mention for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Pitcher of the week for his efforts in leading Chestnut Hill College to two wins at Florida Coast Spring Training. Hopkins was 2-0 with a 1.29 on the trip to Florida, allowing two earned runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out eight over 14.0 innings of work.
                                                                             
Chestnut Hill College (7-6) won their final five games in Florida thanks to some excellent pitching from Hopkins. He earned his first win by allowing one run on three hits and a walk while striking out three in seven innings of work in the first game against the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown on March 5. His second win came on March 9, by allowing one earned run on six hits while striking out three in seven innings of the first game with Mercy College. In three starts this season, Hopkins is 2-1 with a 1.35 ERA; he has allowed three earned runs in 20 innings, allowing 13 hits and four walks while striking out nine.
