Humes Returns to CACC Weekly

New Haven, CT – (3/27/2012) – Freshman Mike Humes (Medford, NJ) went 2-1 at both number one singles and number two doubles in a 2-1 week for Chestnut Hill College, earning himself an honorable mention for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie and Player of the Week awards.
 
Humes lost both of his matches in a shutout, 9-0, loss to Concordia College on Wednesday, March 21, but he recovered to sweep his remaining matches for the week. He won 6-1, 6-1 in the top individual flight against St. Thomas Aquinas College on Friday, March 23, and 6-0, 6-0 against Caldwell College’s top competitor on Saturday, March 24. In doubles, he teamed with sophomore Manuel Ceniceros (Mexico City, Mexico) for two victories at in the number two team flight. For the season, Humes is 7-4 as an individual, with a 6-4 mark at number one singles. He is 5-7 in doubles, with a 4-5 record at number two doubles.
