Griffins Sweep Weekly CACC Women’s Tennis Awards

Kelly Dennis (Cincinnati, Ohio) and freshmen
Iman Williams-Mulesa (Pickering, Ontario) were recognized by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) as the Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Picking up where they left off, the Chestnut Hill College women’s tennis team opened their 2012-2013 season with a 9-0 victory at Molloy College. Dennis teamed with senior
Anastasiya Shcherbakova (Minsk, Belarus) to get the Griffins rolling with an 8-6 win at number one doubles. Meanwhile, Williams-Mulesa combined with fellow freshman
Axe Owens (Trenton, N.J.) for an 8-0 win at number three doubles.
In singles play, Dennis led the Griffins, scoring a 6-4, 6-3 win in the number one singles match, while Williams-Mulesa won number five singles 6-1, 6-1 for her first individual collegiate victory.
The women's tennis team will open their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with their next match, a 4:00 p.m. opening serve is scheduled for Thursday, September 6, at Philadelphia University.
