Madeline Gannon (Glenolden, Pa.) averaged 19.5 pins per frame in Bakers play and 184.6 pins per game in Traditional competition to help Chestnut Hill College to respective sixth (6th of 8, 1W-4L, 4,393 pins) and 10
th place (10
th of 11, 1W-4L, 4,228 pins) finishes at last weekend’s Northeast Invitational. Gannon’s performance garnered her a spot on the
East Coast Conference (ECC) Women’s Bowling Weekly Honor Roll (

Chestnut Hill College joined co-host Mount St. Mary's University (Md.) and serval others at 30 Strikes in Stratford, New Jersey, on Friday, February 5, to host the Baker Round of the Northeast Invitational. The Griffins finished the first day of competition sixth in the eight-team field (6th of 8, 1W-4L, 4,393 pins), scoring their only Baker victory over (RV) Long Island University (LIU), 978-947. Gannon filled nine out of 10 frames in the victory.
The Northeast Invitational concluded on Saturday, February 6, with a round of Traditional play. Chestnut Hill College finished the round 10th in the 11-team field with 4,228 total pins; their lone win coming against Bloomfield College, 823-788. Gannon offered a team-high 185.0 average for the day, fronting the Scarlet and Gold’s later efforts against #15 Delaware State University (180 in L, 841-945), (RV) Monmouth University (204 in L, 889-941), and #13 North Carolina A&T (206 in L, 821-1,075).
Gannon’s led the Griffins in full frame percentage and ranked 23
rd in Traditional average for the weekend.
Chestnut Hill College returns to action on February 26 when they join their fellow league members of the ECC Women’s Bowling Championship.
