Trabosh Returns to CACC Weekly Report With Honor Roll Recognition

Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) returned to the weekly Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Volleyball Report after a one week hiatus, earning Honor Roll recognition with 6.3 digs-per-set in a 1-2 week of league competition against Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, and Nyack College.
Georgian Court University kept Chestnut Hill College (7-15, 5-6) off balance all night on Tuesday, October 15, disarming the Griffins in a 3-0 (17-25, 23-25, 11-25) win. Three Griffins topped out at four kills apiece while Trabosh proved as the team's best performer with 16 digs.
The Griffins earned their only win of the week in Thursday’s, October 17, 80’s Night victory over Goldey-Beacom College. With back-to-back 25-12 wins in the match's first two sets; the Griffins looked to make quick work of the visitors. The Lightning delayed the Griffins victory until the fourth set as they rallied for a 26-24 third-set win before falling to the home team in the in a 25-15 set-final, 3-1 (25-12, 25-12, 24-26, 25-15). Emily Drew (Ringoes, N.J.) spread the ball around in the opening frame and with her teammates hitting .370 (12K-2E-27TA) in the set the Griffins were able to take gain the advantage with a 25-12 win, 1-0. The Lightning tied the second set three times, at 1-1, 2-2, and 3-3, before giving way to junior right side
Kaitlyn Schock (Allentown, Pa.) and sophomore middle hitter
Rachel Biro (Nazareth, Pa.), who powered the Griffin offense in another 25-12 win, 2-0. In the highly-competitive third set, the Griffins paced the Lightning to a 23-19 lead, before allowing the visitors to shock them with a comeback 26-24 win, 2-1. Fortunately, the Griffins rediscovered their focus in the fourth set with a deciding 25-15 win; 3-2. Trabosh recorded 24 digs in the victory.
On Saturday, October 19, the Griffins met some stiff competition at Nyack. The Griffins suffered a 3-0 (25-16, 28-26, 25-16) loss at the hands of the Warriors, dropping the opening set 25-16, and rivaling the Warriors to a 28-26 second-set defeat, before bowing out on another 25-16 loss. Trabosh led the defensive effort with 23 digs.
Trabosh currently leads the CACC in digs (440) and digs-per-set (5.12), with her per-set average ranking her 37
th nationally.
The women's volleyball team continues their CACC schedule at the University of the Sciences on Wednesday, October 23, for a 7:00 p.m. opening serve.
