New Haven, Conn. - (9/16/2014) – Finishing their respective races at the Queensborough Community College Invitational in fifth and sixth place, sophomores Samuel Mondello (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Paige Antall (Hanover Township, Pa.) were mentions on this week’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Honor Roll.
 
The Chestnut Hill College cross country teams opened their respective seasons Sunday, September 14, at New York's historic Van Courtlandt Park, competing in the Queensborough Community College Invitational. The Griffins took home three medals, two in the men's eight-kilometer (8K) race and one in the women's five-kilometer (5k) race.  A sixth place finish from Antall paced the women to a seventh place finish out of 12 full squads (174 points) as she covered the challenging course in 22:08. Meanwhile, the men’s fifth place finish (5th of 10, 104 points) was earned on a third place finish from Mondello who completed the 5K track in 27:57.
 
The men's and women’s cross country teams run next at the Penn State – Brandywine Invitational, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, at the campus in Media, Pennsylvania.
