Comas Collects Second CACC Honorable Mention
 
New Haven, CT – (1/10/2011) – Despite two conference losses for Chestnut Hill College, back-to-back, double-doubles earned junior center Dan Comas (Philadelphia, PA) his second honorable mention among the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly award winners. Comas averaged 26.5 points-per-game (PPG), 13.0 rebounds-per-game (RPG), and 3.5 blocks-per-game (BPG) in home contests against Holy Family University and Bloomfield College last week.
 
Comas recorded a double-double in each contest last week to reach 15 such performances for his career. He opened with 23 points, 12 rebounds, a block, and two assists in a 89-79 loss to Holy Family University on Thursday, January 6. Two days later, on January 8, Comas posted season-highs across the stat sheet as he totaled 30 points, 14 rebounds, six blocks, and two steals in a 84-71 loss to Bloomfield College. He was 20-of-36 (55.6%) from the field and 13-of-22 (59.1%) from the line.
 
For the season, Comas leads the Griffins in points (17.7/gm), rebounds (10.1/gm), and blocks (11). He has shot 53.2% (42-of-79) from the floor and 57.1% (40-of-70) from the free throw line. He was a CACC weekly honorable mention for the week ending November 21.
 
The men’s basketball team continues their CACC schedule with a 8:00 p.m. contest at the University of the Sciences on Tuesday, January 11.
