Play Versus Loyola University Places Bocaletto and Kohler as CACC Player and Rookie of the Week

New Haven, Conn. - (3/1/2016) – Opening their spring season in Orlando, Florida, alongside the women, the Chestnut Hill College men’s tennis team fought Loyola University to a 4-3 loss on Sunday, February 28. Sophomore Lucas Bocaletto (Itatiba, Brazil) was successful in both formats while freshman Pierre Kohler (Les Sables d'Olonne, France) was victorious at number two singles to respectively earn the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player and Rookie of the Week titles.

Bocaletto and Pedro Festugato Regalin (Caxias do Sul, Brazil) combined for the only Chestnut Hill College (3-1) doubles win as they triumphed first in the second flight, 8-3. But the Greyhounds gained the advantage with wins of 9-8 (8-3) and 8-2 at number three and number one doubles, respectively. The Scarlet and Gold evened the score with a 6-0, 7-5 number two singles victory from Kohler, but Greyhound victories at number four singles, 7-6, 6-3, and number six singles, 6-3, 6-3, separated Loyola University for a 4-2 lead in an eventual 4-3 triumph. Bocaletto won number one singles 7-6, 6-2.

The Chestnut Hill College men’s tennis team and women’s tennis team resume play on Tuesday, March 1, when they visit Florida Southern College for respective 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. matches.
