Mezzatesta Merits CACC Weekly Honor Roll Recognition for Round in ACE Club Tri-Match
New Haven, Conn. - (10/26/2017) – For the third time this fall, sophomore Taylor Mezzatesta (Forest Hill, Md.) earned recognition on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Golf Weekly Honor Roll. In Sunday’s tri-match at the nearby ACE Club, Mezzatesta headlined Chestnut Hill College’s tie for first place (328, +40) with his round of 77 (+5).
Chestnut Hill College tied Neumann University for first place at the ACE Club Tri-Match. Host, Jefferson University came in third place (331, +43), but were just three strokes behind the Griffins and Knights. Junior Joe Mitchell (Buffalo, N.Y.) led the Knight effort and took the individual crown with his round of 73 (+1), while Mezzatesta’s score tied him for second place in the event. His teammates all shot less than a 90; leading the way was freshman Jake Kehoe (Powell, Ohio), who finished the course in 83 (+11) strokes. Behind him, freshman Tyler Marchese (Dunmore, Pa.) and sophomore Shawn Mayer (Brick, N.J.) tied with 85 (+13) strokes, and freshman Jack LaRosa (Bristol, Pa.) shot an 87 (+15) as the Griffins last scoring participant. Playing as an individual, freshman Dan Harrington (Pomfret Center, Conn.) matched Marchese and Mayer’s score of 85 (+13).
The Chestnut Hill College golf team will resume competition in the spring.
